David Worth ran for 14 hours, 50 minutes and 22 seconds straight and broke the record for the fastest time through the section of the A.T. that crosses the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. While his splits averaged a not-blistering 12-plus-minutes per mile, the sheer stamina of trail running for that long is very impressive. The 26-year-old is an interpretive ranger for Great Smoky and an ultra runner, banging out a 25-to-30-mile run each week.
